Do Not Sell
Do Not Sell or Share My Info
Last updated: 2026-08-07
Effective: 7 Aug 2026
Under the CCPA/CPRA and equivalent US state statutes you may direct a business to stop selling or sharing your personal information for targeted advertising. Here is what that means on this site, and how to do it.
Once You Have Opted Out
After you opt out, targeted advertising ceases but advertising may not. The site itself is unchanged — no content is locked, no feature is removed, and no reader is disadvantaged for having exercised the right.
What Triggers This Right
We should be clear about scope. Your personal information is not sold for money. Where advertising is served, though, identifiers may be shared with advertising partners, and because these laws define ‘sale’ and ‘sharing’ expansively, that sharing may fall within them. The opt-out is offered on that basis. It applies site-wide, to casual visitors and regular readers alike.
Ways to Opt Out
The automatic route is Global Privacy Control: enable it in your browser and this site respects it on every visit without you asking. Manual routes are the consent banner, where one is presented, and email to hello@messysenses.com with ‘Do Not Sell or Share’ in the subject. No account or registration is needed.
